Sehwag!

Another century from Sehwag! The player who has no foot movement and who could have been almost written off by the greats of Cricket, had it not been for his aggressive run making. I believe he has been tagged as lucky batsman quite a few times by likes of Gavaskar. Sehwag is a prime example of why hard work and determination are more important than talent.

It's not about the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog!

Talent is of different types. To survive is a talent. To fight is also a talent. To work hard, too is a talent. He may not be a very technically sound (in the classical sense) batsman, but that is lacks talent is plain wrong. He is, IMHO, a gifted batsman. Gifted with guts and determination as well as cricket. To also imply that the Sachins and the Laras do not have hard work and determination is again plain wrong - _everyone_ at that level has those. Those are the bare minimum traits. With only talent, you can go no where. Once, in school, I read at the back of a note book - "There is nothing more common that wasted talent". Success needs extreme focus and the ability to take pain (metaphorically), and perhaps the least among these - raw talent.

I agree with your last statement. However here I meant talent in more technical sense. That talent people can show off in five minutes in front of a committee. The other kind of talents can be shown only if given a proper chance.

that is true wasted talent is the most common thing.... sehwag rocks ... Indian selection is so bad that if they want to throw you out of team they will select you in the wrong format at wrong time. When sehwag was doing in test they selected him in oneday and not test ...same thing happened with Kambli .. if he had been playing in test ..people might have said that he the best lefty ever ..

Stop talking cricket. Kill cricket. Think of your countrymen instead.

Ps. My word-verfication is katil.
